S.I. No. 401/1981 - Dublin Traffic and Parking (No. 2) Temporary Rules, 1981.
I, PATRICK McLAUGHLIN, Commissioner of the Garda Siochana, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 89 and 90 (as amended by section 6 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), the Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 269 of 1977 ), and with the consent of the Minister for the Environment, hereby make the following temporary rules in respect of the area comprising the county borough of Dublin, the borough of Dun Laoghaire, the county of Dublin and the town of Balbriggan: | ||||||||
1. These rules may be cited as the Dublin Traffic and Parking (No. 2) Temporary Rules, 1981. | ||||||||
2. These rules shall come into operation on the 30th day of November, 1981. | ||||||||
3. Rule 20 of the Dublin Traffic and Parking Temporary Rules, 1981 ( S.I. No. 148 of 1981 ), is hereby amended by the insertion of the following paragraph after paragraph (3): | ||||||||
“(4) Paragraphs (1) and (2) of this rule do not apply to a vehicle entering a with-flow bus lane or a contra-flow bus lane solely for the purpose— | ||||||||
(a) of entering or leaving premises or property adjacent to such a bus lane, or | ||||||||
(b) of entering or leaving a road inset adjacent to such a bus lane in order to load or unload goods.” | ||||||||

The Minister for the Environment hereby consents to the making of the foregoing temporary rules. | ||||||||

These rules amend Part VI (Bus Lanes) of the Dublin Traffic and Parking Temporary Rules, 1981 ( S.I. No. 148 of 1981 ) to permit vehicles to enter a with-flow bus lane or a contra-flow bus lane solely for the purpose of entering or leaving premises or property adjacent to such bus lanes or, similarly, to road insets for the purpose of loading or unloading goods. |
