This instrument renews for the year 1988 an existing instrument which will expire on 31 December, 1987. It appoints a nominal quota of £100 as the value of the miscellaneous textiles (wearing apparel and other made-up textile articles) originating in certain countries which may be imported during the period 1 January, 1988 to 31 December, 1988. This nominal quota has been appointed to facilitate more satisfactory administration. The Minister for Industry and Commerce is prepared to license, during the quota period, not less than 15 tonnes of the goods concerned, consonant with the restrictions in operation for the different countries concerned.
