Oireachtas (Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices) (Secretarial Facilities) Regulations 2007

The Houses of the Oireachtas Commission, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by:

-        section 10(4) (inserted by section 1 of the Oireachtas (Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices) (Amendment) Act 2001 (No. 30 of 2001) and transferred by section 4(3)(a) of the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Act 2003 (No. 28 of 2003)) of the Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices Act 1938 and

-        section 2(1)(c) (inserted by section 3 of the Oireachtas (Miscellaneous Provisions) and Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices (Amendment) Act 1996 (No.39 of 1996) and transferred by section 4(3)(b) of the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Act 2003 (No.28 of 2003)) of the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) Act 1962 (No.32 of 1962),

hereby makes the following regulations:

1.         (1)        These Regulations may be cited as the Oireachtas (Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices) (Secretarial Facilities) Regulations 2007.

(2)        These regulations are deemed to have come into operation on 1 January 2007.

2.         In these Regulations:

-      “Commission” means the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission established under the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Acts 2003 and 2006.

-      “Regulations of 2004” means the Oireachtas (Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices) (Secretarial Facilities) (No. 5) Regulations, 2004 (S.I. No. 888 of 2004).

3.         Every member of Dáil Éireann and every member of Seanad Éireann and every qualifying party shall be entitled to printing services from a centralised printing facility operating under the control of the Commission, according to such Guidelines as may be drawn up by the Commission from time to time.

4. The Regulations of 2004 are amended as follows:

a)   in Regulation 5, by deleting the words “and printing facilities to the extent specified in Schedule 1 Part II in respect of each party”;

b)   in Schedule 1, Part II, by deleting the words after the Table; and

c)   in Schedule 2, by deleting the Table and substituting the following:
