Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, JOAN BURTON, Minister for Social Protection, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 , 8 , 15 and 16 of the Gender Recognition Act 2015 (No. 25 of 2015), hereby make the following Regulations:

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Gender Recognition (Forms of Application) Regulations 2015.

Definition

2. In these Regulations “the Principal Act” means the Gender Recognition Act 2015 (No. 25 of 2015).

Commencement

3. These Regulations come into operation on 7 September 2015.

Forms of application

4. An application—

(a) for a gender recognition certificate under section 8 of the Principal Act,

(b) to revoke a gender recognition certificate under section 15 of the Principal Act, or

(c) to correct a clerical error or an error of fact in a gender recognition certificate under section 16 of the Principal Act,

shall be made to the Minister in the form for the time being approved by the Minister or in such other manner as the Minister may accept as sufficient in the circumstances.

These Regulations prescribe how the following applications under the Gender Recognition Act 2015 are to be made:

— an application for a gender recognition certificate,

— an application to revoke a gender recognition certificate,

— an application to correct a clerical error or an error of fact in a gender recognition certificate.
