S.I. No. 166/2018 - Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2014 (Commencement) Order 2018


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, SIMON HARRIS, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2014 (No. 33 of 2014), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2014 (Commencement) Order 2018.

2. The 14th day of May 2018 is appointed as the day on which section 23 of the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2014 (No. 33 of 2014) comes into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

The Order will commence section 40A of the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2014 (No. 33 of 2014) with effect from 14 May 2018. Section 23 inserts a new section 40A (Conditions attached to registration). The effect of the order will be to permit a registration board, in the interests of public safety, to attach conditions to the registration of a person who has a relevant medical disability.
