EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

The Roads Act 2015 provided for the legal dissolution of the Railway Procurement Agency (RPA) and the transfer of its functions and employees to the National Roads Authority (NRA), now known as Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). The purpose of these Regulations is to further amend the Transport (Railway Infrastructure) Act 2001 RPA Pension and Life Assurance Plan 2003 Superannuation (No.1) Scheme 2012, to facilitate the alignment of the retirement age of members of the TII pension scheme with the Single Scheme.
