The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 36 of the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 (No. 15 of 2013) and for the purpose of giving full effect to Commission Regulation (EU) 2020/ 687 of 17 December 20191 in so far as that Regulation applies to avian influenza, makes the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Avian Influenza (Temporary Measures) (No.7) Regulations 2021 (Second Amendment) Regulations 2022 and, subject to Regulation 3, come into operation on 13 January 2022. | ||
2. The Avian Influenza (Temporary Measures) (No.7) Regulations 2021 are amended – | ||
(a) in Regulation 2, by the deletion of “and protection zone 5”, | ||
(b) by the deletion of Regulation 3 (a) (inserted by the Avian Influenza (Temporary Measures) (No.7) Regulations 2021 (Amendment) Regulations 2022), | ||
(c) in Part 2 of Schedule 1 by the deletion of “(apart from the townlands situate in protection zone 5)” in each place where it occurs, and | ||
(d) by the deletion of Part 5 of Schedule 2. | ||
3. From 16 January 2022, the Avian Influenza (Temporary Measures) (No.7) Regulations 2021 are amended by the deletion of Part 1 (inserted by the Avian Influenza (Temporary Measures) (No.7) Regulations 2021 (Amendment) Regulations 2022) and Part 3 of Schedule 1. | ||

These Regulations provide for the removal of certain temporary measures formerly in place to combat the threat posed by avian influenza. | ||
