S.I. No. 346/2022 - Insurance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2022 (Commencement) Order 2022

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 12th July, 2022.

I, PASCHAL DONOHOE, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Insurance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2022 (No. 11 of 2022), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Insurance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2022 (Commencement) Order 2022.

2. In this Order, “Act of 2022” means the Insurance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2022 (No. 11 of 2022).

3. The 8th day of July 2022 is appointed as the day on which the Act of 2022, other than sections 7 and 8 shall come into operation.

4. The 1st day of October 2022 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act of 2022 shall come into operation:

(a) section 7, and

(b) section 8, in so far as it relates to the insertion of section 16A into the Consumer Insurance Contracts Act 2019 (No. 53 of 2019).

5. The 1st day of January 2023 is appointed as the day on which the Act of 2022, in so far as it is not already in operation, shall come into operation.
