S.I. No. 420/2025 - Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 (Commencement) Order 2025

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, JENNIFER CARROLL MACNEILL, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 (No. 16 of 2020), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 (Commencement) Order 2025.

2. The 5th day of September 2025 is appointed as the day on which section 109, in so far as it is not already in operation, of the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 (No. 16 of 2020) shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order appoints 5th September 2025 as the day on which section 109, in so far as it is not already in operation, of the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 (No. 16 of 2020) shall come into operation.

The provision being commenced amends the Medical Practitioners Act 2007 to provide additional grounds for complaint under section 57 of that Act.
