S.I. No. 674/2025 - Ethics in Public Office (Prescribed Public Bodies, Designated Directorships of Public Bodies and Designated Positions in Public Bodies) (Amendment) Regulations 2025

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, JACK CHAMBERS, Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of, and paragraph 1(13) of the First Schedule to, the Ethics in Public Office Act 1995 (No. 22 of 1995) (as adapted by the Standards in Public Office (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) (No. 2) Order 2023 ( S.I. No. 367 of 2023 ) and the Public Expenditure National Development Plan Delivery and Reform (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2025 ( S.I. No. 243 of 2025 )) and being of the opinion that each body, organisation or group prescribed in the following regulations, ought, in the public interest and having regard to the provisions and spirit of that Act, to be prescribed, and after consultation with every Minister of the Government, hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Ethics in Public Office (Prescribed Public Bodies, Designated Directorships of Public Bodies and Designated Positions in Public Bodies) (Amendment) Regulations 2025.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 January 2026.

3. The Ethics in Public Office (Prescribed Public Bodies, Designated Directorships of Public Bodies and Designated Positions in Public Bodies) Regulations 2004 ( S.I. No. 699 of 2004 ) are amended —

(a) by the substitution of the following Regulation for Regulation 8 (amended by Regulation 2(a) of the Ethics in Public Office (Prescribed Public Bodies, Designated Directorships of Public Bodies and Designated Positions in Public Bodies) (Amendment) Regulations 2018 ( S.I. No. 484 of 2018 )):
