I, TIMMY DOOLEY, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 14 of the Sea-Fisheries and Maritime Jurisdiction Act 2006 (No. 8 of 2006) and the Agriculture, Food and the Marine (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) (No. 2) Order 2025 ( S.I. No. 368 of 2025 ) for the purpose of giving further effect to Commission Regulation (EEC) No. 3440/84 of 6 December 19841 (as amended by Regulation (EEC) No 955/87 of 1 April 19872 , Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2122/89 of 14 July 19893 and Commission Regulation No 146/2007 of 15 February 20074 ) and Regulation (EU) 2019/1241 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 20195 and effect to Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/3204 of 11 October 20246 , Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/283 of 28 November 20247 , Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/1726 of 27 June 20258 , Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/2192 of 6 August 20259 and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/2193 of 8 August 202510 hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) (Amendment) Regulations 2025. | ||
2. The Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) Regulations 2019 ( S.I. No. 520 of 2019 ) are amended in Regulation 2(1) by the insertion after “30 November 2023” in the definition of “Council Regulation” (as amended by the Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 ( S.I. No. 715 of 2024 )) of the following: “, Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/3204 of 11 October 2024, Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/283 of 28 November 2024, Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/1726 of 27 June 2025, Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/2192 of 6 August 2025 and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/2193 of 8 August 2025”. | ||
3. The Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 ( S.I. No. 715 of 2024 ) are revoked. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE | ||

This instrument amends the Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) Regulations 2019 ( S.I. No. 520 of 2019 ) to give effect to (a) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/3204 of 11 October 2024 amending Regulation (EU) 2019/1241 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards short-necked clam and red seabream and (b) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/283 of 28 November 2024 amending Regulation (EU) 2019/1241 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards technical measures for certain demersal and pelagic fisheries in the Celtic Sea, the Irish Sea and the West of Scotland, (c) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/1726 of 27 June 2025 amending Regulation (EU) 2019/1241 as regards the correction of the territorial scope of provisions concerning short-necked clam and red seabream, (d) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/2192 of 6 August 2025 amending Regulation (EU) 2019/1241 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards specific technical measures for red seabream (Pagellus bogaraveo)in ICES subareas 6 to 8 and (e) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/2193 of 8 August 2025 amending Regulation (EU) 2019/1241 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the prolongation of technical measures for certain demersal and pelagic fisheries in the Celtic Sea, the Irish Sea and the West of Scotland. | ||
