I, JIM O’CALLAGHAN, Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 27 (2)(b) of the Civil Legal Aid Act 1995 (No. 32 of 1995) and the Equality and Law Reform (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 1997 ( S.I. No. 297 of 1997 ) (as adapted by the Justice (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2025 ( S.I. No. 242 of 2025 )), with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation (as adapted by the Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2025 ( S.I. No. 243 of 2025 )), hereby order as follows: | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Civil Legal Aid (Tribunal for Asylum and Returns Appeals) Order 2026. | ||
2. The Tribunal for Asylum and Returns Appeals is prescribed for the purposes of section 27 (2)(b) of the Civil Legal Aid Act 1995 (No. 32 of 1995). | ||
The Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation consents to the making of the foregoing Order. | ||

This Order prescribes the Tribunal for Asylum and Returns Appeals for the purposes of Section 27 (2)(b) of the Civil Legal Aid Act 1995 (No. 32 of 1995) as a body at whose proceedings legal aid may be provided by the Legal Aid Board. |
