S.I. No. 186/2003 - Civil Defence Act 2002 (Commencement and Establishment Day) Order 2003

I, MICHAEL SMITH, Minister for Defence, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 1 (3) and 6 of the Civil Defence Act 2002 (No. 16 of 2002), hereby order as follows:

1.   This Order may be cited as the Civil Defence Act 2002 (Commencement and Establishment Day) Order 2003.

2.   The 7th day of May 2003 is appointed as—

(a)          the day on which so much of the Civil Defence Act 2002 (No. 16 of 2002) as is not in operation immediately before the making of this Order comes into operation, and

(b)          the establishment day for the purposes of that Act.
