S.I. No. 29/2026 - Public Health (Tobacco) (Retail Sign) Regulations 2026

I, JENNIFER CARROLL MACNEILL, Minister of Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 43(4A) (amended by section 10 of the Public Health (Tobacco) (Amendment) Act 2024 (No. 47 of 2024)) of the Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2002 (No. 6 of 2002), hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Public Health (Tobacco) (Retail Sign) Regulations 2026.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on 2 February 2026.

2. The sign set out in the Schedule is prescribed for the purposes of section 43(4A) (amended by section 10 of the Public Health (Tobacco) (Amendment) Act 2024 (No. 47 of 2024)) of the Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2002 (No. 6 of 2002).

3. (1) The sign prescribed in Regulation 2 shall —

(a) contain the text set out in the Schedule,

(b) be printed on A4-size white paper or cardboard, and

(c) conform to the dimensions, font, font colour and point size of the sign set out in that Schedule.

(2) The following shall be inserted where indicated on the sign prescribed in Regulation 2 and set out in the Schedule:

(a) the name of the licence holder,

(b) the address of the premises concerned, and

(c) the licence number of the licence to sell tobacco products, where issued.
