S.I. No. 294/2026 - EirGrid, Electricity and Turf (Amendment) Act 2022 Section 10(4) extension order

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 26th June, 2026.

I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (4) of section 10 of the EirGrid, Electricity and Turf (Amendment) Act 2022 , hereby make the following Order, with respect to which, pursuant to subsection (4) of that section, a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving the draft has been passed by each such House:

1. This Order may be cited as the EirGrid, Electricity and Turf (Amendment) Act 2022 Section 10(4) extension order

2. This Order shall come into operation on 7th day of July 2026.

3. In this Order, “Act of 2022” means the EirGrid, Electricity and Turf (Amendment) Act 2022

4. This Order extends the operational period of Temporary Emergency Generation Plant (TEG 2) by 12 months, amending the cessation date set out in Section 3(2) of the Act of 31 March 2027 to 31 March 2028 as allowed for under in Section 10(1) and in accordance with section 10(4)
