S.I. No. 31/2026 - Gambling Regulation Act 2024 (Commencement) Order 2026

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 10th February, 2026.

I, JIM O’CALLAGHAN, Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 (No. 35 of 2024) (as adapted by the Justice (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2025 ( S.I. No. 242 of 2025 )), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 (Commencement) Order 2026.

2. The 5th day of February 2026 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 (No. 35 of 2024) shall come into operation:

(a) in Part 1 —

(i) section 6, and

(ii) section 10 and Schedule 2 in so far as they relate to —

(I) items 2 to 6 and 9 of Part 1 of that Schedule, and

(II) items 1 to 4 of Part 2 of that Schedule;

(b) in Part 2 —

(i) in Chapter 1, paragraphs (a), (b)(i), (c) and (f) to (k) of section 15(1),

(ii) Chapter 2, in so far as it is not already in operation, and

(iii) Chapter 4, other than sections 51, 54 and 55;

(c) in Part 4 —

(i) Chapter 1, other than —

(I) subsections (1)(a)(ii), (2) and (3) of section 67,

(II) subsections (2) to (6) of section 68, and

(III) sections 70 to 72,
