I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving further effect to Council Directive 2007/59/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 20071 , hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Train Drivers Certification) (Licence Fees) Regulations 2026. | ||
2. The European Communities (Train Drivers Certification) Regulations 2010 ( S.I. No. 399 of 2010 ) are amended by the insertion after Regulation 7 of the following: | ||
“Fees – licence applications, etc. | ||
7A (1) The following fees shall be paid to the competent authority in such manner as it may direct: | ||
(a) for an application for a licence, or a renewal of a licence, under Regulation 7(3), a fee of €150; | ||
(b) for the issue of a duplicate licence under Regulation 7(6), a fee of €100. | ||
(2) The fees paid to the competent authority under this Regulation shall accrue to the authority and shall be applied for the purpose of meeting expenses properly incurred by the authority in the discharge of its functions.”. | ||
