S.I. No. 67/2026 - Residential Tenancies (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2026 (Commencement) Order 2026

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 6th March, 2026.

I, JAMES BROWNE, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Residential Tenancies (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2026 (No. 3 of 2026), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Residential Tenancies (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2026 (Commencement) Order 2026.

2. In this Order, “Act of 2026” means the Residential Tenancies (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2026 (No. 3 of 2026).

3. The 28th day of February 2026 is appointed as the day on which sections 1, 3, 10, 15 and 24 of the Act of 2026 shall come into operation.

4. The 1st day of March 2026 is appointed as the day on which sections 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 30 of the Act of 2026 shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order appoints -

1. 28 February 2026 as the date on which sections 1, 3, 10, 15 and 24,

and

2. 1 March 2026 as the date on which sections 2 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 , 20 , 21 , 22 , 23 and 30 of the Residential Tenancies (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2026 come into operation.
