S.I. No. 76/2026 - Personal Insolvency Act 2012 (Worth of a Motor Vehicle) (Amendment) Regulations 2026

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 6th March, 2026.

I, JIM O’CALLAGHAN, Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 and section 26 (6)(c)(iii)(I) of the Personal Insolvency Act 2012 (No. 44 of 2012) (as adapted by the Justice (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2025 ( S.I. No. 242 of 2025 )), hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Personal Insolvency Act 2012 (Worth of a Motor Vehicle) (Amendment) Regulations 2026.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on 16 March 2026.

2. The Personal Insolvency Act 2012 (Worth of Motor Vehicle) Regulations 2017 ( S.I. No. 594 of 2017 ) are amended in Regulation 2 by the substitution of “€12,500” for “€5,000”.
